Today we celebrated life together with a 13.1 mile walk on the beach. Yep, that’s a half marathon. It’s been about 8 months since Bill’s surgery on his right ankle. I can’t begin to adequately express how proud I am of him. He’s also lost 27 pounds. Bill decided on Monday that he wanted to […]Read more "Beach Adventures"
In late December, we embarked on a different journey. Not truly a new journey, but a dedicated, intentional journey to work on our health. Bill has been able to increase his distance for walking, and even start doing some running intervals. We are (semi)patiently waiting for our opportunity to start the vaccine series. In our […]Read more "We’re Not on The Road, But We’re on a New Journey!"
2020 has certainly been a unique year, hasn’t it? We started it off nice enough – a “polar” plunge Florida-style after returning from a visit with Mom for Christmas. February found us in Saint Augustine, FL celebrating our anniversary. Usually we head to Savannah, but we decided to mix it up. Shortly after our return, […]Read more "Warm Christmas Blessings To You and Your Family!"
It’s been a month, and we are firmly ensconced in Mayport. Before we left Michigan, we were parked under an oak tree. The oak was just beginning to lose it’s acorns, so we were used to hearing a few acorns bonk the top of the rig. Fast forward to Mayport. Remember that old song – […]Read more "Don’t Park Under The….. and Never Say Never"
Today started before we really wanted it to. Neighbors in a coach nearby decided to warm up their rig at 0500 hrs., prior to their 0600 hrs. departure. Not a very neighborly thing to do in close quarters…please be considerate of your fellow travelers! We hit the road at 0845 in bright sunshine after another […]Read more "14 October 2020 – Georgetown, KY to Calhoun, GA"
It was a dark and stormy night…. And unbelievably windy last night. That all changed this morning as we were greeted with a cloudless blue sky and gorgeous sunrise over Lake Erie. We quickly packed up, and departed Sterling at 0935 hrs. Travel was very pleasant – traffic was light and moving well. We did […]Read more "13 Oct 20 – Monroe, MI to Georgetown, KY"
We departed Wellston at 0910 hrs., a full 20 minutes ahead of planned departure. The colors have been glorious the past few days here is northern Michigan. It was, as always, hard to say goodbye to Mom. She handed me a bag (very heavy) full to the top with travel snacks. Bill says we will […]Read more "October 11 & 12 – Wellston, MI to Monroe, MI"
Normally, I wouldn’t post a link to my personal blog – but wanted to capture this adventure on both sites. We will be hitting the road again in a few days – so more adventures to come!Read more "Dumonts Are On The Road Again with Thelma and Louise!"
Yay! We are back in our RV in Heart of the Forest Campground in Wellston. I know my Mom has to breathing a sigh of relief. She graciously invited us (and we gratefully accepted!) to come a stay with her while Bill recuperated from surgery. That was 23 days ago. Bill is doing remarkably well. […]Read more "Back Home Again!"
This is a very late catch-up post. We left Houston on the 14th. Beth joined me for a walk before we left – we walked in what started out as a mist and evolved into a serious soaking rain. She headed off to work, and we commenced to pack with a thunderstorm sounding it’s warning. […]Read more "Back In Michigan – Monday, May 18"
