Time for a little catch-up here. Wednesday was a day to tidy things around the house and enjoy the campground. We went to Walt’s house for dinner and to wish him well on his trip.
Thursday was designated Gettysburg Day 2. Great plans – but we forgot to designate one of us to be responsible for coordinating the weather. The forecast was for overcast and in the 70’s. The actual weather was mid 60’s, and a continual mist with occasional bursts of actual rain.
Arriving at the National Park in Gettysburg, we opted to watch a movie, view the Cyclorama, and the museum on the grounds in hopes that the weather would clear. We enjoyed lunch at the on-site canteen, then decided that we were going to see the rest of the park in the rain.
I really appreciated being able to see this fantastic place in the sunshine as well as the misty rain. Although it was cold and wet, it leant a new perspective to the whole experience.
Here are some pictures from the experience (more on my Facebook page, if you’re interested):
Today – October 4 – we left Little Bennett Campground this morning headed back to Pennsylvania. We landed in Jonestown, PA – a little north of Lancaster. This was a really short travel day – we were set up in our new home by 1330 hrs. After working for a bit, we went out to explore town and restock a few groceries.
Shopping was fun – we restocked the items on the shopping list – and we picked up several regional foodstuffs to enjoy. Supper was a buffet of sorts – lots of yummy tastes to enjoy.
Miles over the past couple days: 330, traveled another 118 today.
