May 10 – Another early start – we were on the road by 0915 hrs. This whole pack up and hit the road thing is coming back – just like riding a bike. The traffic in Louisiana and Texas is significantly higher volume, but polite. Our travel was pretty light – we covered 214 miles and were tucked into our Texas home by 1355 hrs. Just in time to watch several historic aircraft take-off at 1400 hrs. in one of the flights that are being flown to commemorate VE day. The location of our current home is awesome – Ellington Field is right across a field from us. It is home to Lone Star Flight Museum, Joint Base Ellington, and general aviation.
We are staying at Jetstream RV Park at NASA. It is a Passport America park, very new and clean. The PA sites are back-in only, although they do have pull-throughs. Our site is nice, but small. Lots of concrete and small trees (it is a new park). The view is phenomenal – at least for us. We are living on Spitfire Road – how cool is that? Today is Mother’s Day. I miss not being able to spend it with my mother, but am delighted to be able to see Beth, and we enjoyed phone calls from Walt, and talked to Mom via phone.
